The moment has finally arrived. My husband, Trent, is not a student anymore! I couldn’t be more proud of this guy right now. He has worked the hardest I know to be where he is today. In fact, this is all I’ve known him to be working towards. That’s right, even when we first met — he was a student. All those endless hours and the constant determination to do his best on every task at hand never ceased to amaze me. Even through the long nights with a newborn, he would stay up for hours to make sure he got done what he needed to. I finally know my husband to not be studying and it feels so good.
These would definitely have to be my favourite family photos at the moment. They may just look like graduation photos to you but they speak of so much more to me. Not only of the years of hard work Trent put in, to finally earn that massive grin on his face, but the fact that through all the trials we endured, we constantly put his studies first, knowing that everything else will fall into place. And I can now say it has. We still were able to support ourselves and then a beautiful little girl when she joined us just two years ago. Going from part time study to full time with a casual income and having a newborn in the mix was a big step for us and we were a little unsure of how long we could do it for. But with complete faith, we knew how important his education was for our little family not just now but for the rest of our lives, that we made it work. Sometimes, I don’t know how we did, but it happened. We never had to defer his studies because we were financially in need, and I believe that to be an absolute blessing. There were times that it came close, and we’d have nothing but cereal for dinner. But never once did Trent complain or feel stressed, or at least show that to me. He worked hard for what he wanted and I can truly see the blessings from this.
It’s been a long road, but worth every minute of it. I love this man. And he deserves every bit of this happiness!
